Qualifications
* A post-graduate degree (Minimum 2 years course duration) in Mass Communications, Public Relations, or Journalism from a recognized university.
* Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in working with Government/Semi-Government projects in the Urban development sector.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop effective IEC strategies and campaigns to raise awareness about waste
management practices among the various ULB's
• Increase knowledge and understanding of waste management concepts, including waste
segregation, recycling, composting, and proper disposal methods etc.
• Possess the capability to disseminate the benefits of various government projects and
programs to a wide and diverse audience in a very positive manner, emphasizing the
advantages and positive impacts of the initiatives.
• Conduct pre- and post-campaign assessments to measure the impact of awareness and
knowledge enhancement initiatives.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of behaviour change campaigns through the
measurement of key performance indicators, such as waste segregation rates and
reduction in waste generation
• Plan, organize and conduct workshops, training programs, and community engagement
activities in waste management initiatives for various target groups, including schools,
businesses, and community organizations.
• Develop training programs and materials to build the capacity of waste management
practitioners, local authorities, and community volunteers in effective IEC strategies.
• Evaluate the impact of capacity building efforts by assessing the knowledge gain and
implementation of sustainable waste management practices among the trained
participants.
• Provide expertise in developing monitoring and evaluation frameworks, tools, and
indicators to track the progress and impact of IEC initiatives in waste management.
• Collect data on campaign reach, engagement levels, knowledge improvement, and
behaviour change among the target audience.
• Analyse monitoring data and prepare reports to assess the effectiveness of
communication strategies and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with internal project teams, government agencies, NGOs, and other relevant
teams to align IEC activities with overall waste management objectives.
• Coordinate with media partners, influencers, and communication agencies to amplify the
reach and impact of communication campaigns.
